One of Jean’s passions is designing and delivering technology workshops for faculty and staff. She spent five years as the Faculty Development Coordinator at the Seattle Community Colleges and during her tenure gave dozens of workshops each year. Each workshop included a web site with workshop and supporting materials so participants could continue with their own learning when needed.
Jean also helped plan, coordinate, and teach workshops for the SCCD annual intensive summer institute from 1997 - 2006. Again, there was a web site developed for each summer institute and in 2006, a blog was used for delivering supplementary materials.
In August, 2007, Jean lead an intensive four day workshop on Creating Your First Podcast for the Washington Working Connections IT Faculty Development Summer Institute. Twelve participants created several podcasts (audio as well as video) for their Fall Quarter Students.
